Security Notice: Email Impersonation Scam

Last updated: 9 August 2026

We are aware that fraudulent emails are being sent to businesses by someone impersonating Tommy O'Shea and Design My Website. These emails are sent from a Gmail address and use our name, logo and business details without permission. They typically offer a website review or claim to have found issues with your website, leading towards a quote or request for payment.

These emails are not from us.

How to verify a genuine email from us

We only ever send email from addresses ending in @designmywebsite.ie. We never send quotes, invoices or bank details from a Gmail account or any other free email provider. If bank details or payment instructions ever appear to change, ring us before acting on anything.

If you have received a suspicious email

Do not reply, click any links or make any payment. Forward the email to us at tommy@designmywebsite.ie so we can include it in our reports to Google and the Gardaí. If you have already replied or made a payment, contact us and your bank immediately.

If you are ever unsure whether an email is genuinely from us, ring us directly. We are always happy to confirm.

This matter has been reported to An Garda Síochána and to Google.

Unsure about an email? Ring us.

We're always happy to confirm whether a message is genuinely from us.
